Formally educated in visual communication, sculpture and painting at institutions, including Städel School Frankfurt, HFG Offenbach, Bau Barcelona, and Berlin Weissensee, Mimo Mali continuously seeks new visual possibilities. Her career includes exhibitions worldwide, both solo and in group shows and museums, as well as features in prestigious publications like Lodown Magazine, Art Monthly Australia (with cover features), IDN Magazine, TM Europe (with cover features), Missy Magazine, Marie Claire, Nylon and more. Her art has also been showcased in various books and on TV on Arte. Additionally, MYMO has collaborated with renowned brands such as Adidas, Nike, Converse, and more, leaving an indelible mark on the global urban art landscape.

Artist Statement:

In my artistic practice, I'm driven by a lifelong exploration of creativity and the symbiotic relationship between my surroundings and my work. From my earliest experiments with 3D collages to my foray into graffiti and street art, my art has always been a manifestation of my experiences and influences. Through formal studies in various artistic disciplines, I've honed my techniques, blending elements of sculpture, painting, and mixed media to create pieces that are at once dynamic and immersive.

Color plays a central role in my work, serving as a conduit for emotion and expression. Whether I'm capturing the vibrant energy of African landscapes or the serene beauty of desert sunsets, my palette reflects the rich tapestry of the natural world. Now based in Mexico, I draw inspiration from the lush jungles and verdant landscapes that surround me, infusing my creations with a sense of vitality and abundance.

At its core, my art is a celebration of experimentation and exploration—a journey into the unknown where each brushstroke and gesture is guided by intuition and spontaneity.
